Our mission at OASIS is to provide free speech and language therapy for children in Dominican Republic and beyond. We focus on early intervention, cultural sensitivity, and long-term impact in vulnerable communities.
Why speech therapy for children matters
In many underserved areas of Dominican Republic, children with communication difficulties face barriers not only in school but in daily life. Without proper diagnosis or intervention, these children are at greater risk of academic failure, social exclusion, and emotional distress.

How the OASIS Project delivers therapy services
We offer free speech and language therapy for children between the ages of 2 and 12 in communities with limited access to clinical services. Our team includes licensed professionals and supervised volunteers who work directly with families, schools, and community centers in Santo Domingo, Dajabón, and beyond.
Each child receives:
- A comprehensive speech and language assessment
- Personalized intervention plans
- One-on-one and group therapy sessions
- Culturally adapted tools and activities
- Ongoing parent and educator involvement
We do not offer one-size-fits-all speech therapy for children. We listen, adapt, and respond to the unique needs of each child and family.
Our impact on Dominican children
Last year alone, the OASIS Project helped over 320 children, tripling our original target. The demand is growing—and so is our commitment. With continued support, we aim to expand into new regions and reach over 500 children next summer.
